Statistic of 2009 increment

I started a poll on "How much is your increment 2009", I received 172 votes so far. Well, nearly half of the people receive in increment if not pay cut. However, there are always some lucky guys (in fact not some, quite a lot, as 20%, that is 1/5), receive more than 6% increment (mainly more than 8%). Maybe I am too childish, should put the range wider, then see what is the higher range. So sad, why I am not in that range.

Pay Cut : 27 (15%)
0% : 83 (48%)
less than 2% : 12 (6%)
less than 4% : 15 (8%)
less than 6% : 3 (1%)
less than 8% : 3 (1%)
more than 8% : 28 (16%)

Bonus survey for 2008

So far I have recevied 174 votes on their 2008 bonus so far. To my surprise, there are still quite a number of lucky guys that receive 2 months or more bonus (including the 13th AWS). So lets see the results:

Retrenched - 12%
Pay Cut - 0% (nearly zero....)
No bonus - 16%
1 month (13th AWS) - 31%
2 months - 10%
more than 2 months - 28%

Seems like more than half of the people still enjoying good life. Only minority very unlucky one are suffering. I am starting a new poll on your increment this year, please vote! Thanks.

What is your year end BONUS this year?

If you are lucky enough, still have a job, what is your year end bonus? Some cases that I know are as follows:

One government financial related institute:
12 (usually no 13 month) + 2.5 (budget allocated from last year) + performance bonus (to be announced next year)

Some companies:
13 (regular 13 months) + performance bonus (to be announced next year)

One property related company:
Pay cut 15% (with some retrenchment)

Many semiconductor and electronic companies:
13 (still) + Force shut down and clear annual leave

So what is yours? A poll is on the right hand side.... key in yours and see what about others!

Top graduates from NTU, NUS business schools more than $4,000 monthly

Once again, the business school graduate from NTU and NUS earn much higher than their peer. Some of them having a starting pay of $4k, this is out of reach for many of us that have been working for 3 or 4 years....

Also look at the hot industry now, they are finance and banking, oil and energy!

Here is the summary:

NUS

The NUS survey of 250 of its 328 Bachelor of Business Administration graduates:
80 per cent were offered a job before graduation
73 per cent had two or more offers

Mainly employed in finance and banking, oil and energy, and the fast-moving consumer goods industry.

Top 11% $4,000 and $10,800 monthly
Top 20% with an Honours degree earn a average of over $5,000 a month

Mean starting salary $3,079, compared with 2006.
Those with Honours had an average starting pay of $3,346.

NTU

9 in 10 were employed within a month of graduation. About two-thirds had multiple job offers.

NTU graduates earn about $2,900 monthly
Top 20 per cent earn $3,802 monthly.
But top Nanyang Business School (NBS) graduates rake in $4,000 to $15,000 monthly.
