Seagate is going to relocate hard disk drive plant from Singapore, as a result, it will lay off 2,000 workers out of 8,000 staffs in Singapore.
"We are moving our hard disk operation at Ang Mo Kio (in Singapore) to other Seagate sites in other countries," company spokeswoman Lotus Tan told Reuters but did not provide further details.
Seagate would keep Seagate's Asia headquarters, media operation as well as a product development and design centre.

Seagate has not been doing well these years. The move out from singapore is expected, beside the affected 2,000 emplyees, they are still a group of contractors been affected. These poor guys will have to close their operation!
