Do you think Singapore can maintain the record of non decreasing Annual Salary since 1998?

According to the data released by MOM on 15 June 2009 based on the data from CPF board, the average monthly earning drops in Q1 2009 for the first time since 2002. In fact, since 1999, there is always an increment in the average monthly salary in first quarter. It even achieve an increment rate of 10% to $4,316 on 2008, however, this amount drops to $4,155 on quarter one this year.

Since 1999, there are only 4 quarters (Q1 2009 is the 5th one) with lower average month salary, they are Q4 1998, Q1 of 1999, Q4 of 2001, and Q3 of 2002. And surprisingly, there is never a decrese in the annual salary since 1998, not sure if Singapore manage to maintain this record this year.

In a report in Zaobao, manager has the highest monthly salary of $6,400, followed up professional with monthly salary of $4405. Those working group that requires knowledge and skill are the best job with their salary increases with age and eperience. The peak of their salary reach when they are of the age of 60. On the other hand, those low skill and blue collar job have thier salary peak at age 30 to 40.
